🔗 Share this article The second-hand marketplace Members Express Frustration Over Sizing Modifications Shoppers are voicing their frustration after an update resulted in listings displaying inaccurate size information. The second-hand shopping app has revised its measurement guidelines for women's and children's clothes without notifying all users about the change. Social Media Reaction Numerous buyers and vendors are posting online claiming that product pages now present an altered size classification compared to what was initially listed due to the recalibration. The platform stated the updated approach better aligns with comparable marketplaces. It has advised users to check their listings and adjust the sizing manually if necessary, causing user dissatisfaction. Size Classification Changes Before the change, the sizes had both one number and one letter, for instance S/8 or M/10. The new system has an alphabetical indicator and numerical range like S/UK 8-10. With some products, the measurements have been reclassified - like an L measurement was previously a 12 but currently displays as UK 16-18. User Stories One content creator, who makes TikTok content about plus-size fashion, stated the update "complicates both purchasing and selling". "Not many brands say XL is a 20-22," as the platform currently indicates. A different member, located in Scotland, explained products she uploaded featuring size 14 markings were showing in the marketplace as size 20–22. "If buyers measuring 20-22 acquire them they will likely be quite upset," she explained. Manual Updates A different user, based in Derby, stated she felt frustrated because the modification necessitated personal updates the sizes on "every single listing". "For me this is particularly frustrating, because of my ongoing medical condition and selling on Vinted has been paramount for me since losing part of my income," she said. Service Background The app has more than 100 million shoppers, with 18 million British users. It has become a favored option to second-hand platforms like eBay and Depop. This isn't the first time that an unexpected update to the app has proved unpopular: last year, Vinted reversed a change to its shipping options due to shopper criticism.
